Warren is an adorable small town, walk down the streets in the waterfront area and you will find many historical buildings, informational plaques and lots of friendly people! We have stories to tell about the very important Native Americans that lived here, Pilgrims, European visitors, English settlers and so much more! Our tours focus on the maritime trades, from the past thru today! Some of the stories we found are incredible, funny and inspirational!

Warren has a deep, rich history in maritime trades and manufacturing! Her story needs to be shared and what better way to do so than on an antique boat built and refitted here in Warren!

Meet “Oyster” …… our newly refitted antique Dyer Glamour Girl

This is a 1966 Dyer 16, GLAMOUR GIRL. These were built right here on the Warren River at Dyer/Anchorage yachts. This boat was built for the Felton/Saltonstall Family for their home “Crosstrees” on North Haven, Maine (An Island off the coast of Rockland). They owned the boat up until 2019/2020 when they gave it to a family friend, then I purchased it. The boat underwent a complete restoration: repowered, repainted etc. in 2021/2022

1979 Dyer 20, restoration is in process….

What does it take to restore an old, derelict boat? First, a lot of vision! Maybe a little crazy too! We start with structure, remove, repair and reinforce…then on to rebuilding, where was seating, how can we maximize it? SAFETY is always first! Esthetics, how do we keep the traditional style of the vessel? It takes a tremendous amount of thought, conversation, time and skilled work! But the results are always worth it!!
