Especially when saving it is quite costly!
Well, this boat is Special for a variety of reasons:

  • She is one of a kind, the only Dyer 29 built in this fashion.

  • She was built right here in Warren, RI by a very well known boat builder, The Anchorage / Dyer Boats

  • She was built for quite an impressive person—-Marjorie Merriweather Post! For entrepreneurs, you will most certainly know her for inheriting CW Post at a time where women did not run companies…but run it she did! She grew the business, she had a keen eye for opportunities, she worked hard and she did not take her success for granted!

  • “Merriweather” was photographed by the famous Alfred Eisenstaedt for Life Magazine.

  • Under the careful direction of The Anchorage/Dyer Boats, she will be fully restored, and everyone will have the opportunity to take a trip on her…like many dignitaries did way back when!

YOU CAN HELP US MAKE HISTORY BY RESERVING YOUR SEAT NOW!

The “Topridge”, later renamed “Merriweather” left Warren on June 28, 1963 and she returned June 2, 2023…almost 60 years to the day! It is quite unheard of that she was brought back to the original builders, and the grandchildren of that builder will direct her careful restoration!

Anyone who loves business history and/or boats I am sure agrees, the “Merriweather” is worth saving!
